Absolutes are concentrated fragrances derived from plants through the use of industrial solvents. Although these solvents are removed during final distillation, residue amounts do remain. Absolutes are suitable for perfumery and when making exotic blends. Some absolutes are only available as an absolute and not as an essential oil. They are not suitable to be included in therapeutic blends.
